Renowned investor Mark Cuban made a surprising revelation on Friday, expressing a preference for his Kia EV6 over his Tesla Plaid amidst the ongoing discord with Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Diverging Choices: Cuban’s statement comes in response to a Threads user’s suggestion that he provoke Musk by showcasing photos of himself driving a Rivian. “Actually I own a Tesla Plaid and a Kia EV. I drive the Kia almost exclusively,” wrote Cuban, sparking a new wave of interest in their high-profile clash.
Significance: The clash between the two billionaires originally began several months ago but recently intensified over discussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. This prompted Musk to brand Cuban an “insufferable tool,” to which Cuban retorted by labeling Musk a “real bad bitch,” further escalating their verbal battle.
Cuban has not responded to queries on his reasons for favoring the EV6 over the Plaid. Questions also linger on whether Cuban possesses the Plaid version of the Model S sedan or the Model X SUV.
Cuban has been vocal about the changes instituted by Musk on X (formerly Twitter) after his acquisition of the platform in 2022. In December 2022, Cuban criticized Musk for his singular authority over Twitter, demanding a ‘Bill of Rights’ to ensure greater transparency on the social media network.
