Former President Escapes Assassination Attempt at Golf Course

Amid the serene greens of his West Palm Beach golf club in Florida, former President Donald Trump faced a chilling moment as the Federal Bureau of Investigation discovered what they described as an assassination attempt.
During a routine afternoon press conference, law enforcement officials revealed a shocking revelation – a would-be gunman was lurking in the shrubbery near the golf course property line. The scenario unfolded as Secret Service agents caught a glimpse of a firearm muzzle protruding through a fence.
Engaging the individual, shots rang out at approximately 1:30 P.M. The assailant dropped an AK-47 style rifle with a scope, alongside two backpacks and a GoPro camera before making a swift escape in a black Nissan SUV.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office swiftly reacted to the incident. Following a “be on the lookout” alert issued by Palm Beach County authorities, a suspect was promptly intercepted on northbound Interstate 95. The swift action resulted in the suspect’s detention.
Sheriff Ric Bradshaw of Palm Beach County commended a vigilant witness who captured images of the gunman and their fleeing vehicle. “We have somebody in custody right now,” confirmed Bradshaw.
This gripping episode comes merely two months after Trump narrowly avoided harm when a bullet grazed his ear during a rally in Pennsylvania. The failed attempt marked the first shooting incident involving a U.S. president or major party candidate in over four decades, eventually culminating in the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle as Secret Service Director.
Reacting to the incident, Vice President Kamala Harris underscored her relief, stating that she had been briefed and was grateful for Trump’s safety. Senator Lindsey Graham also chimed in with a reassuring message after speaking to President Trump, affirming that the former president was “in good spirits.”
In an official statement, Rafael Barros, Special Agent in Charge of the Miami Field Office, confirmed, “Former President Donald Trump is safe and unharmed following a protective incident shortly before 2 P.M. Sunday at Trump International Golf Club at West Palm Beach. Secret Service personnel opened fire on a gunman located near the property line, and this matter is under investigation.”
