TC Energy (NYSE:TRP) is planning to meet next week with representatives of indigenous communities to discuss a potential sale of a stake in its Nova Gas Transmission natural gas pipeline network in western Canada, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in Edmonton, with 72 communities from provinces including Alberta and British Columbia being invited to attend, as per the report from Bloomberg, referencing a letter the company sent last month.

Seeking approval from the Canada Energy Regulator last year, TC Energy (TRP) aims to transfer ownership of the NGTL system from one corporate entity to another to “facilitate potential future minority ownership of the system, including possible participation from indigenous groups.”

The 15,300-mile NGTL system handles approximately 10% of North America’s natural gas supply.
